On December 10, 2026, CityHealth will convene its first-ever National Vision Summit on Urban Health in Washington, DC — a landmark gathering that will define the future of healthier cities across America and launch the next decade of bold urban health leadership.
As part of CityHealth’s 10-year anniversary celebration, this Summit will bring together an influential coalition of local policymakers, elected officials, public health leaders, philanthropic partners, advocates, and policy experts united by a shared mission: building stronger, healthier, and more equitable communities nationwide.

Grounded in CityHealth’s decade of advancing evidence-based policy change in the nation’s largest cities, the Summit will elevate a powerful idea: health begins long before someone enters the healthcare system. The conditions in which people live, work, move, and age are among the strongest drivers of health, opportunity, and prosperity — and cities have the power to shape those conditions through bold public policy.

At a moment when cities are navigating unprecedented social, economic, and environmental challenges, the National Vision Summit on Urban Health will spotlight the transformative power of policy solutions to improve quality of life for millions of people throughout the country. Through dynamic conversations, participants will explore how policies related to housing affordability, transportation access, economic mobility, environmental resilience, and community well-being can shape healthier futures for generations to come.

The National Vision Summit on Urban Health is designed as a catalyst for action. The convening will showcase proven policy innovations, spark cross-sector collaboration, and equip leaders with practical strategies to advance healthier, more resilient communities so that every person has the opportunity to thrive, not just today, but for decades to come.
